Monthly recap (May 2026)
I've decided to live under the sea in an Octopus's garden in the shade for all the Ringo Starrs that never had the chance.
You think being perceived online is hard? Try being perceived IRL
A couple months back, I mentioned that my favorite wrestler's mom had emailed me about reading one of my pro wrestling posts. I was mortified at first but eventually reconciled with the idea that she was simply a proud mother looking up her son's name on Google. I told her I'd say hi at a show but never got around to it until now.

I would like to extend an apology to all of the pro wrestlers I have ever written about as well as Guy Williams and the CEOs from our marketing agency competitors and my gay therapist. Please understand that every post on this website is made in jest and do not take anything I say seriously.
Horus was very friendly and said something along the lines of "Don't worry, cringe is good. I'm a pro wrestler which is the most cringe thing out there." And it's true, it really is. Pro wrestling is awesome because it takes the most hypermasculine edgy tough guy personas possible and puts them in the silliest scenarios.
Out of the ring, Horus (Keanu Clyde) is a special education teacher. I've previously discussed how pro wrestling can provide a structured, socially exciting atmosphere for those who can't access typical club environments, as well as how it presents a scenario where kids can actually meet the heroes they look up to. When I consider his day job and how much everyone loves Horus, it makes me want to tear up.
Anyway this has convinced me to quit SEO-optimizing my blog because I do not want a situation like this to happen again.
Regular updates
- Now that I've scaled back on writing and am handling more website crap, I'm realizing that I truly am so lucky to have a job that's essentially my hobby. Even if work makes me use the most evil WYSIWYG CMSes in existence.
- Unfortunately I think I am actually going fucking insane over the idea of Websites otherwise. I gotta consciously stop myself from spending all my free time browsing small web-type sites. My goal in June is to go outside and draw more because there is no point in quitting social media if I'm gonna be trapped by writing about the abstracts of the internet instead.
- SquidyJen sent her gorgeous Trucy risoprint to me!!! I just adoreee the colors, got it hanging up on the wall. The stickers have really unique printing effects!
- Also got some iM@S stickers from Roma. Whadda hell! They're so cute!!!
Site updates
- Uploaded some old posts I kept saying I'd rewrite but never did. These sound way too promotional for my liking, but there are still no English webpages about the topics after three years.1
- Updated all URLs from /post/ to /log/. Sorry if that caused any RSS issues.
- Moved #ramble into its own section for shorter posts that don't warrant a click-in.
- Added a full art reposting policy.
- Briefly changed the fonts to be a bit more distinct and switched them back after realizing my eyes cannot handle anything other than high-contrast 16px sans-serif.
- Added dark mode based on your system preferences.
Art log
Sailor Miku shikishi as a gift/art trade for friend. Loose lineart with gel pen and highlighters, acrylic paint colors, and pencil overlining.

Chibi painting of AllyRat for her letter exchange. She's a New Zealand sweet lolita with a very cute personal site! I used her materials for the background.

Scrapbook pages from this month. First one features a Haruka Amami commission from Dioknarf back in 2017 or so. Second, my friend and I split some packaging and each made a page around that. Third has my grape girl OC and Tommy Combat's Flat Earth Foundation sticker from the recent IPW event. I think he tried to promote himself by putting the stickers on a couple of chairs, but no one knew who he was so everyone assumed the stickers were other people trying to save a seat.
Monthly Lego freebuild: chocolate box.

Outfit log
Retiring this section since it's become a serious bottleneck in posting. I'll probably make a separate page on the site for showing off outfits later.
In the meantime, look at Mr. Fuzzby's new sailor uniform! Custom-made by Kev.

Mr. Fuzzby is keeping up with all of the latest Victorian fashion trends.
Media log
Splitting stuff into categories now. I don't tend to list things I dislike to begin with (unless I have a specific complaint), but I've marked particularly recommended media with star emojis. Also, I'll try to avoid listing shit I nabbed from Hacker News front page unless it's exceptionally interesting.
Read
- Sophie Hardach - Wit, unker, git: The lost medieval pronouns of English intimacy: 'Youse' is pretty common in some areas of New Zealand, so it originating in Scotland makes a lot of sense actually...
- Silvia Marchetti - Is This Christianity's Most Blasphemous Cookie?
- ⭐⭐ Mark Twain - The Adventures of Tom Sawyer: Absolutely delightful! I am so very fond of Tom, who is seen as a silly troublemaker but is actually well-read and imaginative but constantly bored and looking for things to do. I love how overdramatic he is at times. Very much reminds me of myself. Huckleberry Finn is such a sad, sweet character. I liked the way the chapters were laid out—many stories were self-contained and lots of times they would start on a storyline only to finish it way later, all while each storyline focused on Tom and not anyone else—just a format I never see in serialized media or movies.
- Akihito Tsukushi - Made in Abyss: Literally the most vile mainstream manga in existence and the author should not be allowed near people under 18 but god the worldbuilding is so good. I love fantasy worlds that present a clear structure to begin with. The mystery is irresistible! It's a manga that makes you terrified of climbing stairs and disgusted by organic shapes. Though I'm convinced the end plot twist is that
everyone's been exploring an ancient giant's asshole just because that fits with the author's fetish. - Macchiro, Orval - Bibilomania: The artwork was gorgeous. I like anything Alice in Wonderland-themed. The story is more interesting if you think of it from an AI lens:
a girl who loves information so much that she destroys the world over it, and a creature that can grant your any wish but you're always just living in your own delusion. - Kuu Tanaka - The Vertical World: The initial concept was interesting and it's one of those manga where you can't put it down, but I feel kinda yeah, OK by the end of it. Another review compared it to The Little Prince, and I agree it has that fairy tale-like quality to it at least.
- SoraNews24 - A letter from our reporter’s deceased mother arrives at just the right time: That's why I'm saying this stupid Japanese Buzzfeed clickbait news site continues to make me cry.
- ⭐⭐⭐ Jon Bois - 17776: What football will look like in the future: Wow wow wow wow.
This is literally Homestuck for football fans. I'm shocked that such a work of art could exist on something like a sports news website. - Ryou Minenami - Haunted Peak C6-7: Everyone in this manga is such a bitch that I don't know what to make of it. It kinda feels like Flowers of Evil? The vibes are rank but I'm fascinated.
- Shuhei Miyazaki - Me & Robocco C3-54: Having a lot of fun with this even if it is 75% Jump pandering. Robocco is pretty unique as far as female leads. She's lowkey modern day Arale. I have a lot to say about the comedy writing in this manga but I'll leave it for later (I keep saying this and never end up writing those posts).
- Atsushi Kaneko - Search and Destroy V1: Goddamn cool as fuck. It makes so much sense to adapt Dororo as a story about AI. Feels like OEL even though it isn't! Apparently the English version was originally serialized on Substack in association with a podcast hosted by Chip Zdarsky. Hello?
- Keni Tsurubuchi - Touge Oni V1: I like the design of the gods. The first chapter by itself works as a pretty satisfying story.
- Kazuo Umezu - The Drifting Classroom V1: This kind of story is often about the horror of a remote setting with no adults, so it's interesting that it focuses on the relationships between kids and adults.
- Osamu Tezuka - The Euphrates Tree: Bro wrote a story where a teenager is directly compared to Adolf Hitler after he eats the expy of the fruit of knowledge and becomes a genocidal eugenicist dictator and then was like "but don't take this story too seriously" in the postscript. Kinda gives Death Note.
- Sarah Wynn-Williams - Careless People: A Story of Where I Used to Work: Wow that was insane. Facebook is somehow worse than I thought. And after every insane thing that lady went through and all of the harm Facebook caused
she just got fired for calling out sexual harassment in the end. It's fucked. - Michelle Wang - The enduring presence: Choice Plaza (Orient Towers): I was going to write about this place but turns out someone already did like a month before. Didn't know it was unoccupied for 20 years! I always wondered what it was used for as a young Chinese kid. The backpacker rooms are pretty cheap so I'll stay there sometime and let you guys know what the view is like.
Watched
- Gavin the Medievalist - King Arthur's Legends: Where to begin?
- Noel Miller - Teaching Senior Citizens How to Spot AI & i interview the pokemon scalpers that ruined our childhood: Unusually unique content from Noel. He has a chill vibe that works well for this soft of thing.
- ⭐ José - "Professor" Jiang's Broken Classroom: Came across Jiang's videos last year and thought they seemed interesting but kinda weird given that he was supposedly a highschool teacher in the middle of China. Wow, he's a fullblown racist incel LOL.
- Skepchick - Rebel Wilson's Bonkers & Sexist Libel Lawsuit: As far as commentary YouTubers go I've been liking this lady lately.
- Impact Pro Wrestling - Eliminator: CTRL is more fun as heel! I like Amber Saint being so petty. Connor King kinda grew on me because he has such funny normal chill guy expressions in the face of everything weird going on in front of him (despite having the weirdest 'design' himself so to speak). The flat earther is one of the strangest pro wrestlers I've seen in a while. I like his flat slicing move, but wrestlers whose gimmicks rely on being a weirdo freak with their words don't work well in group or tag team settings.
Listened
- No. 1 feel alone - Tokyo Jiyukei*Girl: Really liked this! Feels different from their usual image without being forced, unlike a lot of mixed iM@S units.
- Alstroemeria/ComeTiK - Refrain Brain: Oh this is a VERY old-school Vocaloid-esque production and MV style. I love it.
- ⭐⭐ King Crimson - 21st Century Schizoid Man: Holy fuck, I forgot how much I loved this song during my JJBA phase. How is this the opening track for their debut!? Just incredible.
- Bruno Mars - The Romantic: That was very short for Bruno's first solo album in a decade. I liked On My Soul. "Don't you want some pretty brown little babies" is a crazy line.
Played
- ⭐ sweetfish - vanitas: Yeah, this.
- neal.fun - Stimulation Clicker
- ⭐⭐⭐ isabisabel - Number Gacha: Got obsessed with this for days. It's more fun than most gacha games and has surprisingly deep gameplay. I love the visuals and attention to detail, like how the packs are based on different decades and how the enemies are weak to their factors. I had to clear my progress so that it'd quit eating up all my time in the end.
- zucchini.cc - Clow Card Fortune Telling
I prepared these for a job interview that I had back in 2023. When I think about it, I don't know why I was so secretive about my sexuality for years when literally the first thing my boss saw of me was me explaining a fandom merch trend that included BNHA yaoi fanart.↩
